The course consists of three practical afternoon sessions.
Session 3 (20.03.19) : Securing the curriculum, long and medium term planning.
Building leadership confidence. Sharing activities.
Planning for visits and visitors.
This series of network meetings are for history leaders in primary schools.
Over three sessions teachers will ensure that the national curriculum for history is in place (long term plan)
In addition medium term planning will be developed using the 6 steps approach to historical enquiry at KS1 and KS2.
Planning will be to ensure all children are able to make good progress across the key stages using the Age Related Expectations developed by Hampshire History team linking with national initiatives for primary history.
Throughout all sessions exciting activities will be shared to ensure history is rigorous, engaging and fun.
Teachers can expect a balance of presentations and activities through each session.
This will ensure everyone can gain understanding and knowledge of the national curriculum as well as develop the planning for their schools no matter what the current stage of development is.
Please come to each session prepared to discuss and share and learn together.
