Want to 'meet' with others to make sure that in your school primary history:

* follows the national curriculum, is in place, sequenced and up to date (intention)
* is taught in lively, fun and inclusive ways to develop children’s historical skills (implementation)
* planning is in place to ensure all children make good progress (impact)
* contemporary issues are well considered and black British history is included through KS1 and KS2

Then the Portsmouth virtual primary history network meetings are for you!

The network will be facilitated by Pat Hannam, County Inspector/Adviser RE, History & Philosophy, HIAS

 Please note this is one of two network meetings, the second meeting is Thursday 17th June, however it is not mandatory to attend both. It would be ideal if delegates can attend both meetings but not a problem if you can only attend one.

This is a zoom meeting, a virtual link will be sent prior to meeting. 

Session 1: Check your curriculum for NC coverage and progression – (intention and impact)

Session 2: Growing your subject knowledge expertise at KS1 and KS2 to teach key, first order concepts (such as empire and civilisation)

Gain lots of new, lively ideas for teaching history well (in a time of pandemic and beyond!) (implementation).

Gain exciting ideas for embedding the teaching of historical skills (e.g. change and continuity, cause and consequence, historical significance, interpretations and enquiry).
