Course description

Using the 'Hypothesis Approach', delegates will determine whether a pupil's needs are primarily SEN or related to the acquisition of English.

Training objectives

Delegates will learn to:

  • use the 'hypothesis approach' to determine whether a pupil's needs are primarily SEN or related to the acquisition of English

  • consider the learning environment and strategies when teaching pupils with both EAL and SEN

Learning outcomes

Delegates will be able to identify learners who have needs that are in addition to their acquisition of English.  They will be able to use appropriate strategies when supporting or teaching pupils who have both SEN and EAL.

  • Membership-only schools £100
  • £50 non-attendance fee charged to ALL schools who do not give 24 hours' notice
