Course description

Ideas, advice and guidance for practitioners working with refugees and asylum seekers.

Training objectives

Delegates will:



  • Understand the impact of trauma on the young people

  • Learn about some strategies and approaches to use in school, including ideas for developing early literacy

Learning outcomes

Teachers will be able to confidently assess the needs of any refugees and asylum seekers they may teach, with an understanding of how trauma may affect learning.

Cost

  • Free to all Portsmouth schools with 'general support' or 'adviser' packages
  • Membership-only schools £100
  • £50 non-attendance fee charged to ALL schools who do not give 24 hours' notice
